 New Zealand beat South Africa by 50 runs at Lahore on Wednesday to set up a championship clash against India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

 The Kiwis set a record target of 363 runs for the Proteas to win thanks to tons from Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson, while Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell chipped in with substantial knock.

 The South African bowlers were left hapless and helpless, as the brilliance of Ravindra and Williamson helped the Black Caps dominate through the entire middle-overs.

 Rabada struck twice to provide a bit of hope for the Proteans late, nearing the final 10 overs. But, a fiery outing from the likes of Mitchell and Phillips, both of whom posted 49 runs each, powered the Kiwis to 362 runs by the end of their innings.

 South Africa, however, succumbed under pressure as they could only manage a total of 312/9 in 50 overs as a late unbeaten ton from David Miller helped the Proteas avoid further embarrassment.
